Business Development Officer/Labour Market Analyst - Under the supervision of the Akwesasne Area Management Board, the Business Development Officer/Labour Market Analyst will assist the Manager through the performance of the following duties: Confirm the current labour market needs of the community by assisting in the gathering and analysis of applicable local labour market reports pertaining to the Akwesasne community. Work with employers to confirm their exact requirements and provide the information to the Career and Employment Development Unit who would inform their clients. Develop incentives and strategies to encourage employers to hire Akwesasne such as wage subsidy programs, job shadowing/ job placements, on the job training and volunteering the creation of subsidized training positions. Prepare information sessions for employers. Work with the Career Development Officers and the Employment Officer. Develop a strategy for marketing clients to employers. Liaise with employers for potential opportunities for AAMB clients which may require participating in an AAMB program. Participate with other Program staff in the case management process and job matching. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in economics or in a related discipline such as business administration or statistics is required and 2 years related work experience or completion of two year post-secondary diploma with at least 6 years work experience in a related field. Candidate must have a valid Canadian Social Insurance Number, knowledge of the current labour market affecting Akwesasne and knowledge of both AAMB and Service Canada Programs. Knowledge of the Mohawk Language would be an asset. Proven research, analytical and negotiating skills are also required. Deadline: Monday June 17, 2013, by 12:00 PM.
